The procedure to get a California Driver's License
The procedure to get a California Driver's License is regulated by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). All scheduling for driving lessons will be done by the assigned instructor, not the office.
High School Students (under the age of 17 ˝):
You must be in possession of two (2) certificates BEFORE you can take the test at the DMV for a Provisional Driving Instruction Permit. This is a DMV regulation.

and
- OL392 – Certificate of Enrollment in Driver Training

If you have NOT completed ANY training (ages 15 through 17 ˝):
1) Call our office and enroll in our Internet Driver’s Ed course. You need to give us your personal information.
2) Pay for the Internet Driver’s Ed course with a Credit Card, PayPal, mail a Personal Check or Money Order. You can pay for the Internet Driver’s Ed course only or for the complete package (cheaper). It’s your choice.
3) Once your payment has been received and accepted, you will be given a username and password. Activation of your login id usually takes between 15 minutes and 2 hours.
4) With your username and password, you can login as many times as necessary to finish the required course. There are ten (10) chapters, each with a test at the end and a Final Test.
5) When you have passed the Final Course Test, you will be automatically issued OL237 – Certificate of Completion of Classroom Driver Education. It will be sent to you via the US Postal Service because the DMV will only accept original Certificates.
6) If you have paid for the package, you will also automatically receive OL392 – Certificate of Enrollment in Driver Training.
7) If you have NOT paid for BTW training, you need to enroll and pay in order to receive OL392 – Certificate of Enrollment in Driver Training.
8) Once you have both certificates, you can call the DMV (or go on-line) and make an appointment to take your Provisional Driving Instruction Permit test.
9) When you have received your Provisional Driving Instruction Permit from the DMV, you need to call our office to schedule your first BTW lesson.
10) Your Provisional Driving Instruction Permit will be signed by your Driving Instructor towards the end of you first lesson.
11) You are now eligible to practice driving with anybody over the age
of 25 who also holds a

you have completed Driver's Ed, have OL237 – Certificate of
Completion of Classroom Driver Education but you DON'T have a
Provisional Instruction Permit:
1) Call the office, enroll for BTW training; you must give us personal information.
2) Pay for three (3) two (2) hour BTW lessons with a Credit Card, PayPal, mail a Personal Check or Money Order.
3) Once payment has been received and accepted, we will mail you OL392 – Certificate of Enrollment in Driver Training that enables to take your written test at the DMV.
4) When you have both certificates, you can call the DMV (or go on-line) and make an appointment to take your Provisional Driving Instruction Permit test.
5) When you have received your Provisional Driving Instruction Permit from the DMV, you need to call our office to schedule your first BTW lesson.
6) Your Provisional Driving Instruction Permit will be signed by your Driving Instructor towards the end of you first lesson.

3) Once payment has been received and accepted, the instructor will call you back in the evening to schedule your first driving lesson.
Students over the age of 17 ˝ but under the age of 25
1) Call the office, enroll for BTW training; you must give us personal information.
2) Pay for one, two or three 90 minute BTW lessons with a Credit Card, PayPal, mail a Personal Check or Money Order.
3) Once payment has been received and accepted, the instructor will call you back in the evening to schedule your first driving lesson.
